In 1993, the Beatitudes Community settled in Abidjan, economic capital and first city of Ivory Coast.

As the second foundation in the country after Issia, Abidjan house was a formidable place for evangelization. A small community of brothers and sisters quickly gathered there. Since 2015, the Community has established a training program in philosophy for brothers in preparation for priestly ministry. The brothers enrolled in this training are supervised by a team of priests.

The Community in Abidjan follows the rhythm of prayer times and liturgy (eucharistic adoration, mass, sacrament of reconciliation) and everyone is welcome to join in. The Community hosts a variety of evangelization missions – inside the premises or in parishes- such

as spiritual evening events or vigils, prayer time for youth and vocations with intercessions on specific occasions.

To the extent possible, the Community welcomes people who want to take a break or live a spiritual retreat. To support itself, the Community runs a small bakery and sells shabbat bread (brioche-bread) from Friday through Sunday. It also runs a small bookshop where you can find books, CDs and a variety of religious items.

You’re welcome!
