Situated in Mount Lebanon, 400 meters above sea level, Gharzouz is a village of Orthodox Christians. With a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean, Mary Queen of Peace is a retreat center welcoming all kinds of people: prayer groups, schools, families, and women in distress.

The Community of the Beatitudes has been present in Lebanon since 1983, in Gharzouz since 1996. After 16 moves, the Lord opened the doors for us to build a spiritual center.

The consecration of the church took place on May 21st, 2000. Our presence is a place of healing and reconciliation in a war-torn part of the world.

The setting and activities attract many young people who are seeking a place where they can grow in intimacy with the Lord. Many members and friends speak English.
